British newspapers of 19th century now on the Internet

Over two million searcheable pages of 19th and early 20th century newspapers have been put online by the British Library. The archive houses 49 national and regional newspapers including The Illustrated Police News which covered the Whitechapel murders. Searches are free and downloads are available on a pay-as-you-go basis.
