Finally Google announces beta tag removal in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk. Well, they all look and behave the same way they did yesterday, as far as I can tell. If there are changes, they will be aimed specifically at businesses. It’s understandable that no matter how reliable a service may seem, the beta label would still prohibit many companies to use it on a professional level. With this milestone Google will take a serious approach to targeting businesses for its Apps suite.

In fact, Gmail had been in beta for so long I wondered if it was part of its logo. Clearly, the beta tag doesn’t mean as much as it used to back in 2004, so  if you feel nostalgic, you can stick back the “beta” label for your account. Just for old time’s sake.
